Eyes Open. Capes On. 100% of sales from this project will benefit the Wide Awakes Mobile Soup Kitchen.
Inspired by the Wide Awakes of 1860-present, an open group of young abolitionists who banded together and devised a radical plan to support abolitionist efforts. Read more about the fascinating history here. Wide Awakes Day is observed on October 3rd.
To be Wide Awake is to believe that communal joy is an act of community care. Joy in the face of oppression is not a delusion; it is a recognition of what we fight for and a necessary act of resistance. It is our hope that this project sparks a bit of joy.
