Just beautiful.

"My friend bought the large constellation quilt diy and fabric to make it as my wedding gift. We worked on it together the whole summer of my engagement and I can’t tell you how precious it is to me now. I’m sure buying a ready made one would’ve been lovely too, but the chance to hand quilt together was really the most priceless gift."

Good winter project

"Although I have not yet started the project, based on past experiences I anticipate no problems or ones that cannot be resolved easily."

Quality is there

"But I wish there was more direction about the colours of the planets and a few pictures of finished examples . I think then people could make the jump easier into designing and creating their own versions. Also a few more examples of stitches and picture of the stitches to show what they look like on the finished project. Because the quilter only gets 1 chance at making the solar quilt because the pattern is a 1 time use (which is ok that it’s a 1 time thing) just saying more examples of stitches used gives people a chance to decide without ruining the paper pattern but trying on thier own and not liking the results."

Excellent, easy to follow DIY kit

"This is my second time making a constellation quilt from Haptic Lab and I can’t speak highly enough of the product! From the clear, simple instructions to the easy-to-follow template, the constellation quilt diy kit is a delight to work with!"

Super fun

"This was so fun. I started off buying the pre-printed map but then realized what a pain it was going to be, so I returned it (thank you for making that seamless!) and got the print-at-home with Sulky option, and it worked great. I ended up doing the milky way in french knots with metallic thread and it was surprisingly fine. I used DMC Diamant. I hand quilted the coordinate lines and then just did the constellations through the top layer. Knots went all the way through, but I didn't take a photo of the back."

Love the diy's

"I've made 4 of the quilts using the sew-through grids. I made the Brooklyn map, the Washington DC map and the map of the northern hemisphere all for baby gifts. I liked the northern hemisphere one so much that I made one for myself!"

Debra C. (5/5)

Beautiful!

"The pattern arrived in a very nice envelope and clear instructions; I can’t wait to get started!"

"I just finished the northern sky embroidered quilt, this will be the next one."

Q&A

I'm probably an idiot but for the life of me I can't get all the pages of this to print the same size--I'm printing it as a batch, but they don't line up when laid on the fabric! Is there a trick I'm missing?
Hi Lucy! Message me at emily(at)hapticlab(dot)com and I'll help you troubleshoot <3
Do you know how much customs charge on this package in the UK?
Hi Christine! Unfortunately we can't really estimate individual customs charges - it really depends on where the package is going and what item you order.
Can you iron the tear away paper template to smooth out the folds?
Hi! The tear-away template is made of a blend of polyester and cellulose fibers, so you can iron it with a warm (not hot) iron.
Hi, How do you manage the back of the quilt? I wouldn’t want everything in reverse
Hi Danielle! You can embroider the design to the top fabric layer of the quilt first to avoid lots of detail appearing on both sides (then quilt the radial design by stitching all the way through three layers, assembling the project as a true quilt). Be sure to check out our IG where I occasionally share images of the back side of finished projects :)
I purchased the large DIY constellation quilt template. Can you help me to know how much quilt fabric I need to purchase please?
Hi there! For the Large Constellation DIY you need 2 yards of 72" wide fabric for the quilt top and another 2 yards for the back, 4 yards total. Happy stitching!
