Custom Quilt Details

Custom Quilt Details

For a small fee, we can personalize your quilt with custom embroidery details. These hand-embroidered details can include a couple's initials and wedding date, or a child's name and birthdate. We can also add up to three locations to each map to mark with either a small heart or star. Baby quilts can be personalized with the child's name, birthdate and up to one location. Note your first house or apartment, a favorite landmark or restaurant, or the street corner of a first kiss.

To request custom embroidery details, just select the custom option when adding a product to your cart. Complete the short survey, making sure all the info you've entered is correct. You do not need to fill out all of the survey; only the details you request will be added. If the custom option is not shown for a given product, we do not offer customization for that particular design.

Available embroidery colors are NAVY, BRIGHT RED, GOLD, or RUSSET only.  We will select an embroidery color that contrasts well with your chosen quilt color; for example, a navy-on-navy detail is not suggested.

Wedding detail above showing "russet" thread on "ivory" quilt. Please note that hand-embroidery is completed by hand in our Brooklyn studio. You can expect subtle differences between custom projects, as different people with different handwriting will script the lettering. Generally, letters and numbers will appear as shown in the example above, and will be stitched in one of the quilt corners.

Please note, locations are not written out. Locations are marked with either a small HEART or a STAR.

For locations that appear just off the map area of a given quilt project, we locate the requested spot with a small arrow near the quilt edge. Please note that details can take at least a week to be completed, perhaps longer during the busy holiday season.

If you'd like to receive your personalized quilt by December 25th, please place your custom quilt requests no later than December 9th.
