Death to the palaces, peace to the cottages

Sold out
Out of stock

This handmade banner features the powerful revolutionary motto “Death to the Palaces, Peace to the Cottages,” a cry for justice that echoes across centuries. Though popularized in an 1834 issue of the radical Hessian Courier, its roots trace back to the early days of the French Revolution as a grassroots call for equality. A small hand-embroidered cottage is featured in the center of the design.
