A gorgeous handmade American Flag made in collaboration with textile artist Sara Kraemer.
Made from antique and vintage remnants—calicos, denims, ginghams, plaids, florals—as well as modern cottons and repurposed fabrics. Machine pieced and hand finished. The stars are hand-cut and whipstitched into place, inspired by the fifteen stars of the Star Spangled Banner from 1814. The original flag is famously missing one star, and Sara cleverly paid homage to this detail in her own art. A powerful tribute to resilience, memory, and the stories our flags carry.
