Protest is an Act of Love

In 2013, years after the passing of his friend, painter Benny Andrews, Civil Rights hero and Congressman John Lewis contributed a foreword to Benny Andrews: There Must Be a Heaven at the Michael Rosenfeld Gallery in New York. His words remind us that true protest springs from love—love for justice, for community, and for the vision of a more equitable society.
