Love Your Neighbor
100% of the proceeds from our Pearlie "Love Your Neighbor" banner will benefit the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota.
This unique artwork draws inspiration from London's Pearly Kings and Queens. Founded during the Victorian era, this working-class charitable society would cover their clothes in mother-of-pearl buttons to catch light and draw donations for the poor and local hospitals. The word "flashy" comes from the Pearlies!
Every button used is real and vintage, sourced from a nonprofit refugee organization in Buffalo, New York, whose work supporting new Americans is exactly what this phrase demands. 100% of proceeds from this project will benefit the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota.
"Love Your Neighbor" is one of humanity's oldest moral imperatives. This piece is inspired by the citizens of Minneapolis who stood up to protect their immigrant neighbors this winter.
